After School Art Class
Dates: Wednesdays - Nov. 4, 11, 18, & 25
Time: 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Perfect for: Pre-K and Elementary-aged artists
Step into the magical world of children’s book illustration! Young artists will explore beloved picture books, discover the artists and techniques behind their favorite illustrations, and create their own storybook-inspired masterpieces. Each week brings a new story, a new illustrator, and exciting opportunities to experiment with colors, textures, and creative techniques. It’s a playful blend of reading, art exploration, and hands-on creativity where every child can discover their own artistic style!
Throughout this series, students will:
Explore beloved children's books and discover the illustrators who bring stories to life
Learn about different illustration styles, artistic techniques, and creative materials
Create original artwork inspired by featured books and illustrators
Experiment with color, line, shape, texture, and composition
Develop their own artistic voice through imagination, experimentation, and creative expression
This class blends literacy and visual art in a playful, encouraging environment that nurtures curiosity, builds artistic confidence, and celebrates the magic of storytelling through art.

Allison is a licensed teacher and certified art educator who believes art should be joyful, exploratory, and accessible to all children. With a background in hands-on, child-centered learning, she creates art experiences that invite curiosity, imagination, and confidence, helping young artists feel proud of both their process and their creations.
