 Our Commitment to Our Community:

Montrose Children’s Museum is a community gathering place where all families can share moments of joy.

  • Montrose Children’s Museum is a community gathering place. We welcome all children and their adults, regardless of ability, age, color, creed, ethnicity, gender, national origin, race, religion, or socioeconomic status, and invite everyone to learn and explore together.

We are committed to creating an environment that reflects and respects our community.

  • Montrose Children’s Museum is a joyful place where children and their grown-ups learn and play together. To ensure all guests have a positive and safe experience, we expect our staff, volunteers and guests to act responsibly and be considerate of others as we share this space.

    1. Participants, Guardians, Parents, and Caregivers are required to comply with the MCM staff instructions and/or directives with respect to Museum policies and procedures. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who will not comply with our policies and procedures.

    2. If you see something that concerns you, please alert MCM staff immediately.

    3. Parents/caregivers are responsible for child supervision at all times inside the Museum. Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian/caregiver (age 16+) when visiting the Museum.

    4. We promote families playing together. Please limit your cell phone use and other electronic devices while enjoying the Museum to maximize the experience for you and your child.

    5. Child drop-offs are NOT permitted.

    6. Parents/caregivers are liable for any damage and/or broken items their party causes while in the Museum. Please notify a staff member if something needs repaired for the safety of all guests.

    8. Wearing a stamp or wristband helps us ensure that all guests have checked in with MCM staff at the front desk. It is a safety measure. All guests are required to either wear a wristband or stamp during their visit or sign a wristband/stamp waiver.

    8. Adults may not explore the Museum without the company of a child, without leaving a government-issued ID at the front desk with authorized personnel, and/or without being escorted by MCM staff.

    9. All visitors must check in at the front desk upon arrival.

    10. Rough housing with exhibits and/or disruptive, disrespectful, or abusive behavior is NOT permitted.

    11. Cleaning up is a part of play and your child is expected to help us keep our Museum clean. Please encourage and model cleaning up as you move from room to room. Please place mouthed objects in the designated bins throughout the museum to be cleaned.

    12. MCM permits visitors to take still and video photographs of members in their own party for personal/noncommercial use.

    13. MCM reserves the right to maintain security camera footage for visitor and MCM staff and volunteer safety.

    14. No food or drink besides water are permitted in the Museum, except in designated eating areas.

    15. Firearms or weapons of any kind are not permitted in the Museum.

    16. For the safety of our guests, individuals showing signs of illness will be asked to leave and visit at another time.

The museum reserves the right to update these policies at any time.

Please contact Museum staff with any questions, needs or concerns.
